  1. Adverse events, mortality, and length of hospital stay for acutely admitted older internal medicine patients (≥ 75 years) in a Short-stay unit versus an Internal Medicine Department. Categorical outcomes are presented as frequencies with percentages and group comparisons with Odds Ratio (OR) and 95% Confidence Intervals (95% CIs). Length-of-stay is presented with median and inter-quartile range [IQR], and group comparison is presented by the mean difference (MDIF) with 95% CI. P-values are given for all comparisons. *Thirteen patients died in-hospital, thus these were not at risk for this event; furthermore 8 patients died within 30 days after discharge without adverse event.
